Watch Free Videos: TV Makeover Gurus Trinny & Susannah’s Fashion Advice

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Sharp-tongued style gurus Trinny and Susannah treated Adelaide shoppers to some fierce fashion advice 2 weeks ago. The British stars of the hit makeover show What Not To Wear held a styling session at Westfield Marion as part of a week-long national tour.

Crowds cheered and clapped as the inimitable duo slapped their cellulite on stage, pulled their form-fitting knickers off and on under their dresses, and pulled up horrified audience members for impromptu styling.

They get approached by women of all ages, from young girls to grandmothers and men as well. So how do Australian women compare with their overseas sisters in the fashion stakes?

According to Susannah, Australian woman are on a par with British women in terms of bad bra-wearing. They’ve probably seen 20,000 women since they’ve been in the southern hemisphere and she would say two have been wearing the right bra.

Crowds lined up for two hours to watch the show, jostling at the end to squeeze in autographs and personal fashion questions.

The two are also known for their weekly column in Britian’s Sun newspaper, five internationally best-selling books, and Original Magic Knickers range.

They both agree Cate Blanchett and Nicole Kidman are Australia’s two best dressed hot mamas.

“Women get a lot of their inspiration from celebrities. The problem is when they try to emulate someone whose body shape they do not have,” the inimitable duo said.

Hot Mama Madonna Has The Body Of A 25-Year-Old Pretty Blonde!

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Hot mama Madonna‘s nearly 50 but has the body of a 25-year-old. How does she do it?

Love her or loathe her, you have to admit that Madonna looks incredible. Set to turn 50 this year, the striking blonde could be a woman half her age.

Whether posing provocatively in a T-shirt with Justin Timberlake or slumped against the ropes kitted out in boxing gear, she looks ready for action.

Her arms are toned and sinewy, her stomach harder than concrete and it is impossible to spot anything that looks as if it might ever wobble. As the first single off her new album, Hard Candy, comes out this week, people are asking: how does she do it?

Apparently, a petite and pretty blonde is regularly spotted walking silently behind the Material Mum in London, New York and Los Angeles. She is fitness revolutionary Tracy Anderson and she is quickly becoming the secret slimming weapon of the A-list.

I guess busy mamas like you and I are desperate to lose jiggly arms, flabby belly and thunder thighs. Unfortunately, there is no easy way out. It takes a bit time. What about losing 5 pounds in 2 weeks or dropping from a size 12 to a size 8 in 12 weeks? Sound attainable, right?

Pupils’ Obsessions With Footballers, Pop Stars & Actors Limit Their Career Aspirations

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

Children’s educational aspirations are said to be damaged by the cult of celebrity.

Teachers fear their pupils’ obsessions with footballers, pop stars, actors and celebrity mamas are affecting their progress in school, and limiting their career aspirations.

Some 60% of teachers said their pupils most aspired to be David Beckham, in a survey for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL).

More than a third said pupils wanted to be famous for the sake of being famous.

Some 32% of the 304 teachers quizzed said their pupils modelled themselves on heiress Paris Hilton.

Many pupils believe celebrity status is available to everyone. They do not understand the hard work it takes to achieve such status and do not think it is important to be actively engaged in school work as education is not needed for a celebrity status.

Too many pupils believed academic success was “unnecessary” because they thought they would be able to make their fame and fortune quite easily on a reality TV show.

They believe that they are much more likely to achieve financial well-being through celebrity than through progression to higher education and a ‘proper’ career.
